Touch the heart of a woman, touch the world!
The Not Without Hope Project evolved into a mission of parent organization, Fit for the King Ministries International. Fit for the King Ministries was founded as a faith-based organization in 2006 by our Executive Director, Julie Peyton, with the purpose of encouraging, equipping & empowering women in the U.S. for Christ. In 2010 God expanded that purpose to Kenya, and in 2013 the Not Without Hope Project was officially established and now serves as our modus operandi.
Many of the women in our program are widows, recovering from abuse, and/or suffering from chronic, incurable diseases; and by and large, they are extremely oppressed and disadvantaged. The Not Without Hope Project specifically targets the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of these women - the most needy women in Kenya. Operating under the ideology, "Touch the heart of a woman, touch the world", we work with indigenous pastor, Jared Obonyo of Thika, Kenya (the second fastest growing city in Kenya), and his wife, Isabella, to reach the women of his church, community and outlying areas. Through our women's sponsorship program, these women are provided biblical resources for growth, discipleship and encouragement, as well as supplemental food and hygiene items for themselves and their families. They are loved on, prayed for, ministered to, encouraged, and taught to discover God’s best for themselves and their children through God’s word.
Another key component of the program is vocational training for the women. Through vocational training and micro-finance they are equipped and empowered to break the cycle of destitution. In early 2015 we included medical care to our program. These precious ladies now have a quality of life and purpose of living that will impact generations!
"I am so grateful for Not Without Hope. They provide food, help and encouragement. They give me hope! Me and my children now have something to celebrate for the future."
